Incident on Adams Avenue

According to Philadelphia police, the shooting took place shortly after 1 a.m. on the 1500 block of Adams Avenue. Responding officers arrived following a 911 call reporting shots fired in the area.

“When officers reached the scene, they found a 17-year-old male suffering from a single gunshot wound to his back,” police said in a statement.

The victim, who was inside a home with friends, had been playing video games when the bullet came through the window.

Surveillance Video Released

In the surveillance footage released by investigators, a man can be seen walking along Adams Avenue before firing several rounds. One of those bullets pierced the window of the home and struck the teenager.

“Video evidence shows the suspect firing multiple shots along the street,” investigators noted. “One round traveled into a residence, injuring the young victim.”

Victim’s Condition

Authorities confirmed that the boy was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is currently listed in stable condition. His identity has not been released due to his age.
